Who can resist fresh homemade apple crisp? This recipe is healthy and clean. I used a mixture of Regent and Haralson apples from AppleJack Orchard in Delano, MN.

Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Rub coconut oil on an 8 inch square baking dish, or in a pie baker
  3. Place peeled, cored and cut apples in baking dish.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine softened coconut oil, maple syrup, honey, almond flour, sea salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and optional cardamom
  5. Whisk these ingredients until smooth.
  6. Pour the sweet liquid mixture evenly over the apples
  7. Use the same mixing bowl to combine the crumble topping
  8. Combine oatmeal, almond flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom, maple syrup, coconut oil. This should be thick enough to smooth over the top of the apples with a spoon.
  9. Bake for 30 to 35 mins or until apples are tender.
  10. Check the apples for tenderness at 30 minutes, add up to 5 minutes to cook time as needed.
